Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

A Civil War battlefield park whose summit road and trails draw hikers, trail runners, and history buffs in equal measure. The walk up is steady, shaded, and busy enough to feel social without feeling crowded.

Views from the top open across the metro on clear days. The visitor center is worth a stop for the history before or after the climb.
